Guest Blogger, Alessia Avellino talks Art, Yoga & feeling fabulous!

Alessia on Yoga: ‘I believe that Yoga is a deeply transformational practice that can enable us to really live a happier life and become more joyful and compassionate human beings towards ourselves and others. My practice can be quite dynamic although still very focused on alignment and body awareness and involves some Yoga philosophy and looking at how the ancient texts on Yoga apply to the yoga we practice on the mat today.

I believe that everyone has the ability to improve their health and life through the practice of Yoga and Meditation and it is my aim to facilitate their empowerment’."

On Beltane (1st May) when the Earth energies are at their strongest and most active, Alessia will be sharing her love of Yoga at a retreat in Salento Italy. It will be a transformative week (27th April - 4th May) at this auspicious time of the year to bring ideas, hopes and dreams into action.

The retreat includes daily dynamic Jivamukti and restorative Hatha Yoga classes, a special Kundalini session during Full Moon in Scorpio (a powerful night for deep change and renewal) and a mystical Shamanic circle.

Classes will be lead by Alessia and Julie Chereath Meo with beauty treatments offered by on-site therapists.

Set in  Italian countryside of Salento, 5 minutes drive from the beach, this Spring Awakening Retreat is an opportunity to take some time out and self- focus. Alessia muses "we are all so busy especially in London, this is a chance to really hone in on what will create a happier, healthier you."

Alessia says " I practice Yoga every single day, it helps me connect with myself and get a better outlook on life so I feel more empowered to face whatever life throws at me with courage and trust"

Why not join Alessia and activate your body and mind with an energising Jivamukti yoga class? Enjoy a healthy balanced superfood brunch, spend the rest of your day relaxing by the pool or the beach, treat yourself to massage, explore the baroque city of Lecce and other historical towns in the Salento region. Come home and wind down with a calming evening yoga class, followed by a delicious dinner, ahhh! The perfect location to kick back in a Kinky Octopus Bikini & a pair of  flats.

The retreat is set in the tranquil grounds of Hotel Masseria Coccioli,  a beautifully restored 15th century estate surrounded by ancient olive groves of the Salento countryside. Classes take place indoors, in the nearby natural preserve, by the pool or on the beach.
